Germany invites you to invest in Africa’s green hydrogen revolution. Our pavilion hosts matchmaking sessions, investor forums, and project showcases. Whether you’re seeking funding or looking to invest, we’re here to connect you with the right partners.

Germany views hydrogen as a crucial component of its transition to a more sustainable energy system. Green hydrogen, produced through electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources, is a key focus. The German government has adopted a National Hydrogen Strategy to promote the use of this climate-friendly gas. This strategy aims to create a reliable basis for investment and foster cooperation with European and international partners. By 2030, demand for hydrogen in steel production and chemical processes is expected to double to nearly 110 TWh

Green hydrogen, despite being colourless, is named based on its origin. It is produced using electricity from renewable sources and is therefore carbon-free. Hydrogen technologies play a vital role in the transport sector, especially for climate-friendly mobility. They complement other alternative propulsion methods, particularly in freight transport. Hydrogen is essential for fuel cells and the production of synthetic fuels, contributing to transport decarbonization. Germany’s commitment to hydrogen underscores its dedication to climate protection, energy security, and competitiveness.
